Just Imagine the word “Aunt May” in your head, and tell us what images pop up? It is got to be a picture of a kind lady who is in her late 60’s living a simple life taking care of her only niece, Peter Parker a.k.a Spiderman. Isn’t it?
Well, that’s about to change in Spiderman: Homecoming, where we are going to see a comparatively young and attractive Aunty May played by Marisa Tomei. This seems like a logical choice because in “Homecoming” Peter is just a school kid, so yeah, Aunt gets a fair chance to be fashionable and a little bit youthful once again.
However, Uncle Ben is still dead, and Marisa is playing the role of single parent hustling between work and a Teenage Mutant Spidey kid who in his free time likes to steal Captain America’s shield and hangs around with “genius billionaire playboy philanthropists” like Tony Stark.
We are excited to see this fresh take on Aunt May’s character that too from a seasoned actor like Marisa Tomei. We saw a little glimpse of her personality in Captain America 3: Civil War, and it felt like she is still the Aunt May, we know from the comic books, but she is just in a fresh new casing. She appeared to have a good time with Tony Stark in one of the scenes and looked like those guys were flirting a bit. To be honest, it would be super weird if Tony and Spidey’s aunt hook-up. It would be even worse than the recent Captain America’s Hydra reveal in Marvel comics.
There were some comic book purists, who were kind of pissed when they found out that Aunt May is going to be a hottie because they like their Aunt May(s) all scrawny, gaunt, weak, and wrinkle infested for some reason. In today’s world, you can offend people just by breathing too fast, breathing too slow or even by breathing normally, so don’t bother yourself with those opinions.
Anyways, enough with the rant. We wanted our readers to have a look at the beauty of Marisa Tomei before they get into the theaters for Spiderman: Homecoming. She is not as bad-ass or good looking like your “Black Widow,” but she has a serene compassionate beauty that none of the Marvel Hotties can offer.
